This is a simple hack that you can get the kids involved in.
What you will need:
- Toilet roll tube[s]
- Some of your dog’s kibble or treats
How to make your toilet roll treat:
Grab yourself a toilet roll tube and have to hand some of your dog’s daily kibble or treat allowance (dried food works best for these).
Fold one end of the toilet roll inwards and then bend and fold upwards. This should create a diamond shape effect, sealing the end.
Pour some kibble into the open end of the loo roll, then seal up this end as above. When you’re done, ask your dog to perform a behaviour (e.g.) sit, down, paw – whatever he or she knows, then praise and reward with the treat roll.
This treat roll is suitable for most dogs but do not leave them unattended as we want to avoid any cardboard going down the hatch!
Take into account any food stuffs you’re using as part of your dog’s daily calorie intake to avoid any weight gain.
