Much of the advice around dogs and babies focuses on practical preparation, and rightly so. Though there is another part of the picture that deserves attention, how pregnancy and early parenthood can change the dog-owner relationship itself.

Changes in routine, time, interaction and emotional bandwidth can all affect how dogs experience family life once a baby arrives. That shift is easy to underestimate, especially in homes where the dog is already well-loved and well-settled.
