This innovative course, produced in collaboration with esteemed business coach Charlotta Hughes BSc, MA, MCIPD, is designed specifically for professionals in the animal industry. This course has been rigorously assessed, approved and is recognised by the iPet Network, and the CPD Certification Service.
Why is this course important?
In our line of work, successful outcomes for animals often hinge on our ability to work collaboratively with clients, owners, keepers, and carers. Understanding human behaviour change and how to facilitate it can significantly enhance our effectiveness as practitioners.
This course will empower you to help your human clients understand differing perspectives, embrace new ideas, and adopt different handling methods or ways of thinking about their situation. The result? Improved outcomes for their animals. 🐶🐱🐰
What does the course entail?
The course consists of eight comprehensive modules, requiring approximately 15 hours of study. It includes micro-video lectures, written lessons, activity tasks, test your knowledge quizzes, as well as recommended resources to work through.
What are the Learning Outcomes?
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand key theories of psychology and how these apply within their role as an animal professional.
- Understand factors that may affect the human-human relationship.
- Understand and apply appropriate practical consulting skills needed in complex client-animal professional situations.
Upon successful completion of this recognised course, you will received your certificate.
How do the lessons/modules work?
- You will need to complete each lesson in order to progress to the following module.
- There are multiple-choice questions at the end of each module to help cement your knowledge and understanding. If you get an answer wrong, it is OK, as the quiz will not let you move on to the next module until you can have got a question right. When all the questions are correct – well done – as this will automatically give you access to the next module.
- You can work at your own pace through the course, however it is recommended you complete the course within 12 months of purchase.
- Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive your certificate and Personal Development Recognition (PDR) 15 points.
How long will the course take?
- The number of hours required for study in this course is 15 hours to work through the eight modules.
- We also encourage learners to participate in some self-study where they choose to work through the recommended reading and other resources provided within this course. Where self-study is undertaken, this provides around 30 hours of study and, therefore, continued personal development.
This course helps animal professionals learn more about their own beliefs, how your thoughts, feelings and actions/behaviours are interconnected, and how you can bring about any change in your own behaviour, which can improve your practitioner skills.
