The course gives you and your puppy:

• basic training from recall to walking to heel

A practical one hour course helping children develop safe, thoughtful handling skills with their family dog. Across the class, children will learn:

• kind handling through fun games and simple challenges
• how to reward clearly 
• when their dog needs space and keep interactions safe
• how to help their dog enjoy training without pressure

Children will receive a certificate of completion, sweets, and a well-done doggie treat for their dog.

A  parent or responsible adult must attend throughout and remain responsible for their child and dog. Dogs must be comfortable working around children and other dogs in a group environment. Places are subject to suitability, and the course is unsuitable for dogs with significant fear, reactivity or aggression concerns.

Across the year, we run one-hour Puppy Taster Classes with Clinical Animal Behaviourist Hanne Grice, who offers a calm, structured introduction to early training and social development. These are typically held at 9.30am at the scenic Hastoe Village Hall. The Puppy Taster session gives you the opportunity to explore how your puppy begins to make sense of their environment and what you can do to support that process.

You’ll experience Hanne’s science-led approach in practice, with practical guidance, expert insight and the chance to ask questions throughout. The session also provides a gentle, safe space for your puppy to encounter new sights, sounds, and social interactions, helping build emotional stability and attention from the outset.  Whether you’re seeking support with early challenges or want to lay solid foundations, this taster session will help you begin your puppy’s education with confidence and clarity.

You’ll also get handouts and some discounted offers as part of your Taster class.

Our group classes at Nora Grace Hall, Goldfield Infants & Primary School, and Hastoe Village Hall are typically six weeks, as well as our Online classes.

Puppy Tasters are one hour, and Kids & Handler courses are typically two weeks.

Group classes are held on Mondays evenings at the *Nora Grace Hall in Tring, HP23 5BA, and Fridays at Hastoe Village Hall in Hastoe, HP23 6LU. Classes are held indoors and outdoors, weather dependent.

*From April 2026, Nora Grace Hall is closing temporarily for refurbishment. Our Monday classes will move temporarily to Goldfield Infants’ & Primary School, Christchurch Road, Tring HP23 4EE.

Our Puppy Taster classes are ad hoc throughout the year and are 1 hour long, held on Fridays at Hastoe Village Hall, Hastoe, HP23 6LU.

Our class sizes are kept small to ensure you and your dog are given the attention you deserve in an calm environment.

Yes we have the Puppy Package via my online Learning Hub.  This will give you all you need from prepping before you get your puppy, settling them in during the early days, through to tackling typical unwanted puppy problems from play biting, jumping up, teaching them to cope with being home alone, to practical training such as recall, loose lead and more.  This is a one-stop shop for all your puppy’s needs and questions.  Click here for information

When permissible, we run in-person group classes with restricted numbers during outbreaks/pandemics. Where the public is advised to stay at home, then classes will be held online. Similarly, in the event of extreme weather conditions where weather warnings advise the public not to travel, classes will be moved to different times of the day to work around high temperatures, or held virtual via our private video link. We have air conditioning at our Monday venue so indoor classes can remain unaffected during heatwaves.

We sanitise our items, change water bowls, and ensure matting is cleaned between lessons.
